THERAPY FOR BLACK, INDIGENOUS, WOMEN OF COLOR

When you decide to take the important step of seeking therapy, having a therapist who reflects your identity can be an invaluable part of helping you feel that your experiences can be understood. Although each person experiences things uniquely, many BIPOC women find it validating to have support from someone who represents an element of their identity. At Joie de Vivre we understand the importance of working with a therapist who has made a point of becoming culturally competent, gets the unique aspects of your background, and is equipped to support your mental health.

Due to the systemic barriers related to racism, sexism, etc., many women have been taught to minimize their personal experiences which can negatively impact overall wellbeing. At Joie de Vivre our team of therapists have experience journeying with clients from diverse backgrounds and intersecting marginalized identities (e.g., LGBTQIA+, Disabled, and Neurodivergent communities). We offer an approach to therapy prioritizes a safe space for BIPOC women to exist in their true identities.
